Gary, Gary, Gary [Poem]
I wrote this for one of my friends who likes Gary even more than I do and has been known to get distracted veeeeery easily by him.
He pulls on my hair, he pulls on my nerves.
He borrows my mind and he steals all my words.
He presses his lips to the straw in his hand.
I am wishing and dreaming, together we stand.
I stare over, he recoils. Repulsed by company.
We walk off, we are alone now so he's attracted to me.
My heels removed, I'm a girl again. Here comes the trademark smirk.
Just a boy and his music. He steals my notebook and his plan begins to work.
I close my eyes and try to think.
He's there still sipping on my drink.
I hate when he does that, it's worse because he knows.
I reach forward and touch him, euphoria flows.
Deep breathes as our hands meet, I curse.
My eyelids flutter, I fall. So much worse.
I fall back into insanity and wear it like a smile.
Just a boy and his music, they're driving me wild.
He touches. My heart, my hands and my lashes.
Oh so long, he sighs and wonders. I get painful flashes.
Not bad pain, but not good. We're both misunderstood.
I said stop, he thought go and the happiness did flow.
My eyes close and he holds me, with words but not touch.
The planet slows to stillness and nothing matters much.
I wait for it to go back, but nothing seems to move.
Just a boy and his music, insane but crucial groove.
