ROBBIE Williams is no Angel—he is planning to use Take That to launch his solo career again.

He has secretly recorded a pop album and plans to exploit the hype from the band’s reunion to rocket it up the charts.

As I first revealed last month, Robbie, 34, has been trying to win over Gary Barlow and is now considering a one-off performance with TT at their final tour gig at Wembley on July 5.

He would join Gary, Mark, Howard and Jason to sing Back For Good during a sensational final encore. Fans are likely to go crazy, and he will exploit this hype by releasing his first single in two years just ONE MONTH after their tour.

The full album will follow in September. The good news for Robbie fans is that his music—which he has recorded in LA over the last six months —sounds very good.

The disastrous experimentation of Rudebox is gone, replaced by new pop gems that sound more like No Regrets.

Last night a source close to Robbie revealed: “He has rediscovered how to write earth shatteringly good pop anthems like Angels.

“He knows this is his last chance to make it big again.

“He needs the band to be successful again.

“And for Robbie, success and being Number One again are the only things that will make him happy now.”

ROBBIE has already road tested his new songs on his CBMs (celeb best mates), Ant and Dec.

And the cheeky Geordie pair have given the thumbs up after getting the first listen.

An insider told me: “After the last couple of albums didn’t do so well, Robbie was pretty nervous about the reaction to his new material. He didn’t want them going to the record company until he tried them on some trusted friends. Ant and Dec loved the songs. Robbie was pretty relieved.”

Execs at EMI—who signed Robbie for £80million in 2002—have now also heard it and are excited. The insider added: “Getting a new Robbie album out has become our priority. It will make him or break us.”
