Justice for Baby P.... Empty Justice for Baby P....

Post by Leannesg1986 Fri Nov 21, 2008 3:33 am

I know this is abit of a downer to put on the forum but I feel so strongly about the case I am going to display my Baby P signature and avatar until the monsters are brought to justice...

Justice for Baby P.... Babypsig

Baby P was a 17 month old baby boy who died on 3rd August, 2007 after suffering months of abuse inflicted on him by his mother, her boyfriend and their lodger.

He was visited over 60 times during this period by various health and social workers, yet he was allowed to remain with the very people who ultimately took his life.

The mother, her boyfriend and the lodger who cannot be named for legal reasons have been convicted of causing or allowing the death of a child and will be sentenced on 15th December, 2008.

Below is a image showing all the injuries Baby P had at the time of his death all believed to be inflicted by his own mother, her partner & their lodger.

By law they could get a life sentance at the most which is 14 yrs under UK law. There is a petition running to get the proper justice deserved for Baby P...where many feel life should mean life. Many (including myself) are also looking to have the offenders named and shamed. Why anyone would want to protect their identity when they have done such a callous thing is beyond me!

You can sign the petition here:

We are demanding immediate independant public enquiries to investigate the following:

- Social Services Procedures
- Demand a GMC Hearing for Dr Sabah Al Zayyat
- Review of Custodial Sentencing for Child Abuse
and Murder Cases
- Review of the Findings and Recommendations of
Victoria Climbie enquiry.

We, the undersigned, petition the Government to conduct the aforementioned enquiries, and to ensure these failures are never allowed to happen again.

In memory of all babies and children who have suffered.

BEFORE YOU SIGN PLEASE NOTE: The petition will ask for a donation, if you do not wish to donate, PLEASE CLICK THE BACK BUTTON to register your signature (you can view your Signature by clicking on the "Signatures" Tab. to verifiy it's inclusion)

How anyone can inflict any pain upon a defenceless child is beyond me! Especially this beautiful little boy.

Justice for Baby P.... Empty Re: Justice for Baby P....

A HOSPITAL specialist accused of failing to spot tragic tot Baby P's suffering has spoken for the first time today of her devastation.

Dr Sabah Alzayyat insisted she has devoted her career to treating children and told of her "deep shock" after finding out what happened.

Seventeen-month-old toddler Baby P died at his north London home just TWO DAYS after she examined him.

Her contract was terminated after she decided Baby P did not need a full medical examination because he was "miserable and cranky". His back had been broken.

Dr Alzayyat remains the only person to lose her job over the failures which led to the boy being repeatedly beaten at the hands of his mum and two men.

She said in a statement: "Like everyone involved in this case, I have been deeply affected by the shocking and tragic circumstances of this young child's death.

"My professional career has been devoted to the care of children. I will cooperate with any investigation to identify whether lessons can be learnt from this case, but I feel it would be inappropriate to provide any further comment at this time."

Dr Sabah's words were issued through the Medical Protection Agency, which provides professional cover for doctors.

Despite this child being visited by social services over 60 times in his short life he was still failed by the system at Haringey Council.

Haringey councillors were heckled by angry protesters as they arrived to issue a grovelling apology for their failings over the death of Baby P.

Watching from the gallery and demonstrating outside the town hall, waving banners and placards, protesters demanded the resignation of councillors and social services bosses.

As Councillor George Meehan admitted that all the agencies involved in caring for the child, who lived in the North London borough, had failed to protect him, cries of 'shame on you', 'sorry isn't good enough' and 'bulls**t' were heard.

But at the same time, the 65-year-old, who has served on the council since 1977, issued a robust defence of Haringey's social workers.

He said they continued 'to put the interests of children first'.

At a meeting of the Labour-run council's cabinet yesterday, Mr Meehan said: 'I want, as leader of the council, to make this formal apology on behalf of Haringey Council.

'These are the right places for Haringey to formally acknowledge our deep sorrow for these tragic events.

'Let me begin by making clear that we are very sorry for the events which led up to the death of Baby P; sorry for the suffering he endured; sorry for the failure of all the child protection agencies involved to protect him, to save his life.

'Haringey Council's apology is heartfelt and unreserved. It is made to all those who knew and cared for the wellbeing of Baby P; it is made to all those residents of Haringey who feel let down by the actions of the child protection agencies in our area and are concerned for the future of every other child at risk; and it is made to the wider public who will have listened with horror at the dreadful damage done during the tragically short life of Baby P.

'We are truly sorry. We await the outcome of the review and we will not comment in detail on the case until then.'

He added: 'We will take whatever action is necessary to improve the protection of vulnerable children in Haringey.

'Let me conclude by saying this: in the 15 months since Baby P died, Haringey's social workers have continued to do their best, often in very difficult circumstances, to protect vulnerable children in our community.

Baby P suffered more than 50 injuries at the hands of his mother, her boyfriend and a lodger despite repeated visits by authorities.

'Despite the pressure of the last few months and weeks, they continue to put the interests of those children first.

'While it is right for the review to identify faults and failures, it is important, in all the millions of words reported on the Baby P case, to recognise that denigrating their service does nothing to improve child protection.
'Colleagues, there is no failure to apologise in full by this council - we do so unreservedly tonight as we did last week.

'There is no failure to recognise our accountability - we do so and await the report of the review.

'There has, however, been failure: by all the agencies involved to protect this little child from the pain and suffering which led to his death; and for that we are truly and genuinely sorry.'
After the statement, Liberal Democrat members of the council repeated their calls for Mr Meehan to stand down.

Opposition Lib Dem leader Robert Gorrie said: 'It may be best for the council if he stands down now.'

I wonder why those child wellfaire workers didn't get harsher sentences, as they are directly responsible for ignoring, overlooking or whatever, on time by this maybe even saving this poor child's life...
