Re: TT to perform on charity single for Haiti.
more on this news:
ROBBIE Williams and Take That will get together to produce the charity song to help survivors of the Haiti earthquake.
Robbie Williams, 35, is tipped to join his old bandmates to sing on Everybody Hurts, organised by X Factor judge Simon Cowell.
Music industry insiders said the collaboration could turn the hit into
the biggest-selling single of all time.
It will be the first time the group have recorded a single together since Robbie left the band in 1995.
Gary Barlow, 39, Mark Owen, 37, Jason Orange, 39, and Howard Donald,
41, are said to be lined up to do the cover of the REM classic.
A spokesman for Robbie said: “He’s been approached.”
A music insider said last night: “A Take That reunion would give this
CD massive selling power and help it make loads of money for Haiti.
There’s no animosity between the boys at all and, although they went
their separate ways in the mid 90s, they never ruled out getting back
in the recording studio at some point."
“This would be a great opportunity for them to help out and it would be a real coup for Simon Cowell.”
Cowell, 50, has vowed to get the single out as soon as possible.
Other top acts confirmed to sing include Rod Stewart, 65, Cheryl Cole,
26, boyband JLS and X Factor winners Leona Lewis, 24, and Alexandra
Burke, 21. Canadian singer Michael Bublé, 34, James Morrison, 25, and
You’re Beautiful singer James Blunt, 36, say they are also taking part.

To
smash records, the track would have to sell more copies than Elton
John’s 1997 tribute to Princess Di, which racked up 4.7million sales.
On downloads it would have to beat 23-year-old Lady GaGa’s recent smash
Poker Face, downloaded by 900,000 Brits. Music guru Gennaro Castaldo,
of HMV, said: “It’s going to be one of the biggest singles of the last
five to 10 years."
“This
single has great potential, not just in terms of raising money, but
also in giving the people of Haiti our emotional support.”
Dancing
On Ice skater Heather Mills, 42, has appealed for people to send in
false limbs and crutches so she can get them shipped out to the
Caribbean.
Blur’s
Damon Albarn, 41, and the Arctic Monkeys are auctioning a specially
written piece of music and a guitar on an Oxfam eBay site.
Last night the Help For Haiti Now telethon took place simultaneously in LA, New York and London.
Tracks from it will be released on iTunes, with all the cash raised going to the appeal

MARIAH CAREY JOINS HAITI SINGLE
'Obsessed' singer Mariah Carey has signed up to record vocals for Simon Cowell's version of REM's 'Everybody Hurts', to raise money for Haiti.
Mariah Carey will sing on Simon Cowell's Haiti charity single. The 'Obsessed' hitmaker has signed up to join a selection of the world's biggest stars and add her vocals to the music mogul's star-studded cover version of the REM ballad 'Everybody Hurts'.Simon has revealed the 40-year-old singer-and-actress was so keen to help raise relief funds for the Caribbean island following the two devastating earthquakes, she altered her schedule to fit in the recording. He
said: "We're getting there. We have had an incredible amount of
support. It's amazing these great singers are clearing their schedules
to make this happen. I just found out Mariah has changed herschedule to be able to do this too. "It
says such a lot that everyone is working so hard to help Haiti. This is
something that really matters to us all and I'm so grateful for the
support we are getting."Simon - who hopes the song will be
released next Sunday (31.01.10) - is thrilled about the extra publicity
which will be generated now Mariah has joined the bill.A source
added to The Sun newspaper: "Mariah was brilliant, she wanted to help
in any way she could. Her name gives the single another great boost."'Hannah Montana' star Miley Cyrus has also joined the track's all-star cast.Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole and British boy band JLS were the first to record their vocals in London over the weekend. The song is particularly poignant to JLS member Oritse Williams, who has lost family members in Haiti. He said: "This tragedy is very close to my heart. We hope to raise as much money as possible."'Bleeding
Love' songstress Leona Lewis paid a visit to a Los Angeles studio last
night (24.01.10), while Take That and rocker Rod Stewart will record in
the US today (25.01.10).Alexandra Burke and Susan Boyle are set to add their vocals this afternoon, while James Morrison, Mika and James Blunt will make arrangements for their recordings over the next few days. The individual vocals are being compiled by producer Steve Robson, using advanced technology which means artists do not need to record together.
