Re: TT to perform on charity single for Haiti.
"As soon as we heard, we were just hoping we'd be asked. It's one of those things you don't have to think about. We've never done anything like this before, but music has been a great way of generating money for good causes." TAKE THAT star GARY BARLOW was overjoyed when the group was asked to take part in SIMON COWELL's Haiti charity single.

silke, hun, take a look at this:
EVERYBODY HURTS AT BRITS
Simon Cowell's star-studded charity single 'Everybody Hurts' will be performed at the BRITs in London on February 16.
Simon Cowell's charity single will be performed at the BRITs.The
music mogul's all-star cover of REM's hit 'Everybody Hurts' - which is
being released to raise funds for earthquake-stricken Haiti - will now
take centre stage at the music awards 30th anniversary ceremony on February 16, after bosses reorganised the evening's line-up to clear a space for the song.A
source said: "A special production meeting was called to reconsider the
running order to include the song. It's something that has never
happened before. But the events in Haiti have made everybody sit up and
take notice."The news comes at the same time as Bon Jovi have confirmed they are adding their talents to the record. The rock band - consisting of singer Jon Bon Jovi,
guitarist Richie Sambora, drummer Tico Torres, bassist Hugh McDonald
and keyboardist David Bryan - will join some of the world's biggest
stars to appear on the single. The female line-up of performers
for the song includes Mariah Carey, Kylie Minogue, Leona Lewis, Cheryl
Cole, Alexandra Burke, Susan Boyle and Miley Cyrus. The girls are joined on the track by Robbie Williams, Take That, Rod Stewart, James Blunt, James Morrison, Joe McElderry, Mika, Michael Buble and boy bands Westlife and JLS.The
song will be the first time 'Bodies' hitmaker Robbie has featured on
the same record as his old band Take That since he left the group in
1995.At the moment, it is unclear whether the musicians will all
be present to perform together at the BRITs, or if a video will be
aired instead. The artists have been recording their parts at
different venues around the world and their musical contributions are
all being edited into one track. The single is due for release on February 8.

Re: TT to perform on charity single for Haiti.
I really like Rob - but I hope he dosn't re-join the band.
He's better as a solo artist - and TT are better off without him as their recent history proves.

I just don't see Robbie's place in the band, that doesn't mean I don't appreciate him as a really great entertainer, and I am seeing him myself as well but he's definately not a group type and to me will never be...

Re: TT to perform on charity single for Haiti.
it was Mark's birthday though last week the sun should consider maybe they were just celebrating that a bit?But of course these news wouldn't sell...I still can't see Robbie fully back together in the band and him only being on stage for the old songs then on tour...I don't think he would do this...just my opinion though...

SIMON COWELL'S HAITI SINGLE READY
Simon Cowell's Helping Haiti charity single, featuring a galaxy of stars such as Robbie Williams and Mariah Carey, was completed on Saturday night (30.01.10).
Simon Cowell's Helping Haiti charity single was completed on Saturday night (30.01.10). The song, a cover of REM's 1992 single 'Everybody Hurts', features 21 artists, including Rod Stewart, Mariah Carey, Jon Bon Jovi and Susan Boyle, all of whom rushed to record their vocals in London and Los Angeles for the track.'Bleeding Love' singer Leona Lewis has the privilege of opening the ballad, while Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams duet on a chorus line together. Take
That members Gary Barlow and Mark Owen sing separate lines, but
following each other, as do Westlife members Shane Filan and Mark
Feehily. The recording was overseen by Simon and producer Steve
Robson - who has previously worked with Take That - and the project
came together in little over a week. British Prime Minister
Gordon Brown has agreed to waive Value Added Tax (VAT) on sales of the
song, and REM will relinquish all royalty payments from the record, so
as much money as possible can go to helping those stricken by the two
huge earthquakes which hit Haiti last month.REM manager Bertis Downs said of the recording: "We are deeply touched the song has been chosen for this Haiti campaign. "It means a lot that the song the guys wrote all those years ago will be used for such an important appeal." The
single will be released on Sunday (07.02.10) and bosses of the BRIT
Awards are in discussion to use the song as part of their event on
February 16.
